Mega Moolah and the classic catalogue keep this score high. RTP Standards is marked down because progressive jackpot games return less from regular play (Mega Moolah's base RTP is 88.12%), and the brand is less prominent in Singapore lobbies than it was a decade ago.
About Microgaming (Games Global)
Microgaming was founded in 1994 and is based in Douglas on the Isle of Man. It is often credited with powering one of the first real-money online casinos, and for twenty years it was one of the biggest names in online slots. Its best-known product is Mega Moolah, launched in 2006. This progressive jackpot network has paid out many seven- and eight-figure prizes, including a €19.4 million win on Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah in April 2021, which was billed at the time as a world record for an online slot.
What happened to Microgaming?
The Microgaming name is still widely used, but the company behind the games has changed:
- 2021: Games Global was formed, with former IGT/Lottomatica executive Walter Bugno as CEO.
- May 2022: Games Global completed its purchase of Microgaming's content business: the game IP, studio relationships, the progressive jackpot network and the distribution arm. From then on, Mega Moolah, Immortal Romance, Thunderstruck II and the rest of the catalogue have been supplied by Games Global.
- After the sale: Microgaming continued only as a platform and services company. In November 2024, at its 30th anniversary, it rebranded as Apricot.
- May 2024: Games Global withdrew a planned New York Stock Exchange listing the day before it was due, citing market conditions. The company is still privately held.
So when a Singapore casino lobby shows a "Microgaming" tab today, the games inside are usually Games Global titles. Some lobbies have relabelled the tab, so if you can't find Microgaming, look for "Games Global".
Games Global is headquartered on the Isle of Man and holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority, among others. It works with around 30–40 partner studios, including Stormcraft, Triple Edge, Gameburger, Just For The Win, Snowborn, Fortune Factory, Foxium, Neon Valley, Pear Fiction and Alchemy Gaming. It describes its catalogue as 1,300+ exclusive titles. Many older "Microgaming" games were made by these studios, which is why credits on game pages sometimes differ.

Signature Features Explained
- Mega Moolah jackpot wheel: on any spin, at any stake, a bonus wheel can trigger and award one of four progressive jackpots. Higher stakes improve your chance of triggering the wheel, but every spin has some chance. The top jackpot is pooled across many casinos worldwide, which is why it grows so large.
- Chamber of Spins (Immortal Romance): the free spins feature unlocks in stages. The first trigger gives one character's mode, and returning to the bonus unlocks the others, each with different multipliers or wild features.
- Great Hall of Spins (Thunderstruck II): works the same way, with four Norse gods. Thor's mode adds Rolling Reels with multipliers up to 5x.
- Hyperspins: used in several Triple Edge and Gameburger games. After a spin, you can pay to respin a single reel. The price shown reflects how likely that respin is to complete a win.
- Link&Win and Gold Blitz: hold-and-respin bonuses where cash symbols lock in place and respins reset each time a new one lands. These are the core of most 2025–2026 releases.
Tips for Playing Microgaming Slots
- Separate jackpot play from regular play. Mega Moolah has a base RTP of 88.12%, so you pay for the jackpot chance through weaker regular returns. If you want value per spin, Avalon II, Immortal Romance or Thunderstruck II return more.
- Don't chase a jackpot that is "due". Progressive jackpots are random. A large pot doesn't mean it is about to drop.
- Learn the unlock features. In Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck II, the best bonus modes unlock over several triggers. Some casinos save your progress per account and some don't.
- Use Hyperspins sparingly. They are priced to match the odds, so they don't give you an edge, and they can drain your balance quickly.
- Set a budget and stick to it. Decide your loss limit and session time before you start, and see our progressive jackpot slots guide for more on how jackpots work.
